hello youtube i am back here with a new video and show you my new worst nightmare in the showcase terrarium. here you can see as everywhere white globules lying around, that is nothing more than styrofoam, crickets have bitten it from the back wall. this has happened over a long period of time, was a creeping process, and the cat also sees this very critically, we have to do something against. so i had no choice but to catch the animals and to place them in a transitional terrarium. the whole earth, all plants, everything out and then here the first layer with tile glue if you want to know how i have built the terrarium, click on the infobox.that is five years ago, and it's time for a little rework. at this point, i still thought that this would be a quick undertaking and i'll come out with a single tile glue layer. unfortunately the actual catastrophe should still come ... as you will see. overall, i have 4 lighting possibilities in the terrarium. for the upper three lamps, i had to build a screen from styrofoam so that you would not be dazzled when you stand in front of it. in the upper left, you can see this, i used at least three layers of glue to stabilize this porous construct.

over night i let the first layer dry, and the next morning see there i had new white globules in the terrarium. this brought me to the right root here on the side wall, which i have unscrewed, and behold an el dorado for crickets. i try to show you this again better, sorry for the poor picture quality. as it is so often, it was a badly visible place, as you can see that goes down to the wood, you can see a silicone sausage and quite a lot styrofoam, a real secret cricket cave. i have applied here also several layers of tile glue. the tile glue layer i have let again dry overnight. next morning i grabbed a brush and the whole back wall times vigorously abraded from time to time, dirt and debris must be removed and this is best done with a slightly harder brush. in the end, there were 4 layers of tile glue, after the last layer has dried out, i have now decided to re-shape the color. in the dry raw condition, the tile glue looks quite bright and white. for the last colored layer i blended the glue with brown colour and added more water. and you see here as i now apply the last layer and the porous subsoil sucks the liquid. in the meantime, i changed the batteries from my thermometer and my hygrometer, so the technology is now ready for use again.

i'm done now, the cat looks at the whole here again conscientiously, i have now cleaned the side glass with lemons and cotton. and it took me some effort here with mirrors and flashlight to find all the holes in the back wall. now where everything is empty i can show you my drain system. i have plastic pots inserted into the wall which are connected with a hose system inside the back wall and you see what happens when i eject water. altogether, i have connected here seven planting possibilities with a hose and it is now time to bring in a few plants. in my old setup, i had used some larger plants here, which made the terrarium quite dark, i have hardly been able to observe the animals. now i have decided to use this coral grass, these plants are very easy to use, little water and little light. and you have a green view and yet quite an overview in the terrarium. now peat is used the peat is sprayed by me thoroughly afterwards i put moss on the peat and then all the furnishings are sprayed here in the terrarium thoroughly. even if this looks so, the impression deceives, it is not very damp here. i have a maximum of 60 to 70% humidity here in this terrarium and here once again the hint, if you are interested how i have built the terrarium once the clicks on the infobox there you find a complete construction video.
