hi there you’re watching amitha verma. ifyou follow me you probably know by know i love mixing in antiques and one-of-a-kinditems with my dã©cor. every year we see the rise of several distinct trends – even withantique and vintage finds. so today i wanted to share a few beautiful trends with you – incase you’re trying to figure out how to mix in a fabulous antique your dã©cor! bar carts. these have made a huge come backon the design scene and we can barely keep these in our store! i love these because ofhow useful they are! whether you live in a small studio apartment or a sprawling texassized mansion they are perfect for entertaining and to add a bit of vintage dã©cor to yourroom. vintage bar carts are so charming and

really say, hey come sit down, let’s chat… sofas/settees i am loving this next trend! as much as ilove regular upholstered sofas, i love keeping an eye out for vintage sofas and settees.and now, these are a huge design trend. these are perfect for a foyer, at the end of a bed,in a master bedroom sitting area and extra rooms in your home like a sunroom or formalliving room. i bet you can agree the size, scale and detail on these pieces are so beautifuland can truly create the foundation for a beautifully designed room. door panels

another big design trend is the use of antiqueand vintage door panels to create a layered look in our interiors. you’ve probably seenhow beautiful it can be to layer antique shutters against the wall. well take that same conceptand now the trend is to use antique doors. i love this trend because it’s a great wayto add a lot of interest on our big empty walls. also all of these antique doors weremade so no two designs were exactly the same. the rarity and uniqueness of each door makesthe design even more special! screens remember these? they were such a big designtrend many, many years back and now this trend has resurfaced. i know this is harder trendto use because sometime it’s hard to know

where to put a screen. i love using them behindsofas, as a room partition or near corners i want to hide. what do you think about screens?love them or leave them? antique beds last, a big trend we are seeing is the useof antique beds. we’ve seen the rise of antiques in dining rooms, kitchens, livingrooms and foyers and naturally many of us want to include that same elegance in ourbedrooms. they are very hard to find but if you can find an antique bed, this a piecethat will make your design come to life! think about how much room a bed takes up in a room– can you see how a beautiful antique or vintage could totally create a stunning designdirection?

so what do you think about these trends? i’mnot really a trendy person or designer at all. in fact my hubby when it comes to mydesign style, i’m really a 98 year woman on the inside – but i have to admit i personallylove all of these design trends! leave a comment and let us know which trendyou love the most! to see more of these trendy items be sureto stop by village antiques and look for some of these one-of-a-kind items to express yourstyle. or take a few objects that you might have and give them a quick transformationwith our signature paint! did you love this blog? if so be, subscribeto our channel today! and head over to our website to sign up for more free design tips!
